In hospital is defined as treatment provided by a hospital which requires an overnight stay.
- Out hospital
Out hospital is defined as treatment taken either from hospitals or clinics as out patient where no overnight stay is required.

||Definition: Hospital confinement for normal or Caesarian delivery, medically necessary abortion or miscarriage and/or any complications arising there from ante/post natal treatment as medically necessary [This option, if opted, is compulsory for all eligible female in the age bracket 16-45 years unless mandatory by law]

- Arab Countries : KSA, Oman, Kuwait, Bahrain, Yemen Lebanon Jordan, Iraq, Syria, Qatar, Egypt, Libya, Algeria, Morocco, Sudan, Somalia, Tunisia, Djibouti, Palestine, Mauritania.
- South East Asia: India, Bangladesh, Philippines, Pakistan, Burma, Thailand, Vietnam, Malaysia, Sri Lanka, Indonesia, Nepal, Bhutan.
- Middle East: ( Iran, Afghanistan)
